I bought 2 mushroom frags at my lfs and as I was checking them over while acclimating I noticed bubble algae around one of them. I don't want to add it to my tank and risk it taking over my tank. I have not added the frag. It's still sitting in my acclimation container.

Please help. Not sure how to add the frag without adding the bubble algae

It is always a risk to add a frag with any kind of nuisance algae on it. I have done it myself but removed the coral from the plug and attached it to a new plug and made sure it was as clean as possible. You can also follow what 35ppt recommended. I have been lucky so far but I am also dosing vibrant once a week as part of my regular maintenance just to help maintain a clean tank.
