So with bubble algae…I’m trying to eradicate manually without chemicals. If one were to scrape it off of rockwork and glass but not suction it all out will it proliferate from the algae floating around or will that stuff die without an anchor?

The individual bubbles can re-anchor. But if you pop them, the insides WILL NOT cause an outbreak like some say... still best to manually remove from the tank, either by suctioning or with a net.So with bubble algae…I’m trying to eradicate manually without chemicals. Never had any luck with those.Emerald crabs will get rid of your bubble algae. I had hundreds of bubbles in my tank and they took care of it. Good luck!!
Crabs are hard to trust why I know longer get any.Never had any luck with those.
Yeah, I just went crazy and took a 8” needle and went on a popping spree….those have a thick gel like substance so I wasn’t to worried about spores getting into the water column…but honestly I did cross my fingers..lolduring water changes, I use a scraper attached to a siphon hose. At other times I use a brush to scrub of the rocks and a net to collect the bits.
regards,
Just pulled this huge chunk from my sump sitting on top
Of my cheato

I have 2 useless emeralds sucking the life out of me….I have not had success with the popping approach or removing/suctioning whole bubbles approach. Even when I couldn't see any on the rocks they still came back. Emerald crab is still on strike demanding higher wages.
