Bubble Algae spore size...

Does anyone know if bubble algae spores are small enough to not get caught by filter socks ?? I’d like to use a bigger hose to remove the bubble algae as I scrape it off the rock work but in doing so it drains my tank extremely fast.
Can I put the other end of the hose into a filter sock to catch the bubble algae and spores as I syphon without losing the water?

Since I do not know the spore size. To be safe I would say do it with 0.5 micron filter bag. I believe most bacterial spores are bigger than that.
