Alright, so this is my first post here. I'm pretty new to reefing. I'm going on a little over a year in the hobby. I have a nuvo 40 with about 40lbs of live rock. 5 nano fish and mixed coral... Soft, LPS, SPS. I've pretty much been on cruise control researching the web and my tank has been great. Corals are happy, colorful and healthy. I have rapid growth and my fish are all active and healthy. I'm running into my first problem that I haven't been able to shake by researching the web. Bubble Algae!! It's starting to take over and I'm trying to beat it back before it overtakes the tank. I feed half a cube of mysis daily (I drain the cube) I feed reef roids 1x per week with a couple of drops of coral amino's. I skim 24 hours a day, run chemipure elite, poly pads, purigen, and filter floss. I also have an algae scrubber and do 10-20% water changes weekly. Even with all the filtration and husbandry my nitrates have always been around 40 and phosphate around .03. No big deal... my corals have always looked beautiful so I thought nothing of the high nitrates. That was until the bubble algae. I've picked up a bottle of vibrant and NoPox but wanted advise before I started dosing. Any advise would be appreciated. Ammonia-0, Nitrite-0, Nitrate-40, Po4- .03, Calcium-420, DKH-8, Magnesium-1280, salinity-.026. Please help!!
