Hello, I have a second tank that is almost all fish with just a few small frags. Today I noticed lots of (what looked like) air bubbles all over the rocks. As I looked closer some of the bubbles are colored and there is a bed of like a slim type algae under the bubbles. Some tan, brown, red and green. I have a sea hair in my coral tank, and he has almost run out of food over there and was going to take him back to LFS but thinking I should transplant him to this tank. Please let me know how to tackle this, last time I checked (5 days ago) all the parameters were good, no ammonia, no nitrite and 5 ppm nitrate. I’ll test again in the moring (it’s late) but any advice on what this stuff is and how to get rid of it would be appreciated.

That looks more like a Dinflagellates or Cyanobacteria outbreak then bubble algae. I am currently battling both in my tank right now and both takes alot of different approaches.
When you get a positive id on what it is there are a few things worth trying to get rid of it.

Here is a example of my bubble algae.

Yup, that’s looks like the things I have... got some frags from a new LFS that mostly died 7-10 days later , and this algae is growing around those frags almost exclusively... the other rock with frags from my usual LFS has nothing at all. I knew I should have gotten some coral rx instead of using up the cheap seachem dip I had left over. Thanks for the ID’s, I’ll look up solutions assuming these are as stated.
