Bubble coral eating my clown fish

I came home from work today to find one of my clown fish about 1-2 inches big being eaten by my bubble coral.

Yeah, on the spectrum of "eating" to "ate", that looks much closer to "ate".

Sorry to see it; I was surprised when I previously saw something like this posted. Apparently its not that uncommon.

Well it happens they are all creatures trying to survive. It does suck but I am pretty sure he will no longer attack my hand when I try to do maintenance on tank.

I bet the clowns were trying to be hosted by the bubble coral. Poor thing. Just looking for a friend. As they say, Eat or be eaten on the reef. Sorry for your loss.
