So this bubble coral used to be huge and happy. Then my rock flower anemone started touching and it seemed to irritate them both. I moved the bubble coral over some but it opened less and less each day. I think it was too much flow. I moved it to a low flow corner last night to see if it gets any better. After miving it i noticed the backside i couldnt see before has tissue recession but not on the front. Also the bubbles have started to get white spots on them. Could it be a parasite or something causing the spots? It has got worse since i moved it and it has been separated from the anemone for several weeks now. I thought it was pissibly sting marks at first but imnore keep showing up. These pics are at night after lights out. During lights on it does expand alot to where you cant see the skeleton or anything but it doesnt get as huge as it used to. This has been a pretty slow decline. I noticed not full expansion several months ago. All other corals seem fine. Im beginning to think i may want to dip it if its a parasite or something living inside it. I did notice a lot of bryozoans growing on the base.

Also it doesn't put out its feeder tentacles at night like it used to. It does a little but but hardly at all. You can see what im saying in the above pics.

This is it a little bit after lights on. It gets bigger during peak lighting but i can't get a picture of it then due to work. I wouldn't think anything was wrong with it if i hadn't had it for over 7 months. Just used to expand more and color was uniform without the white spots on the bubbles.

Anyone have any experience with this coral?

I don’t have much experience with the bubble, but mine has never put out the really long feeding tentacles like people say they do. I haven’t experienced those white spots either. But after lights out mine has receded like that, I don’t have a picture of it super receded. But here’s night and day
Hope someone has some insight for you, I’m interested to see what others think

Thanks for your response. Im figuring its a combination of being stung by the nem and then getting moved to an area with too much flow. I'll give an update in a week or so if nothing gets worse.

Bubbles are prone to infection if they have tissue damage.

Figured out my issue with this coral. Witnessed my emerald crab ripping off chunks last night after i fed it. Didn't appear to be eating the coral but stealing the food. Still caused damage to the flesh of the bubble coral though. Probably going to have to get rid of the crab. Unfortunate because otherwise he does great in the tank.
