Hello friends,

Yesterday I bought a bubble coral at reduced price because it was damaged/hurt during shipping to LFS. The center seems okay, not great but okay, while the edges are in awful shape. So far I have put it in low flow area, under an archway so it gets indirect light mostly, and a bit of filtered light. My emerald crabs and hermits have been eating the dead parts around the edges, but not harming the living bubbles.

I don't know my exact parameters, but everything else in my tank is doing well so I think I'm probably fine there.

I was curios if anyone had any ideas/experience/suggestions on how best to try and nurse this beautiful coral back to life

If I were you I'd clean it up with a Turkey baster and make sure all the dead flesh and skeleton is cleaned up around it. Probobly do an iodine dip and wait! Keep it out of sand and in a lower light low flow area.

How is the best way to clean up the dead flesh and skeleton?or do you mean clean that with the baster? I was going to try too remove some of the bigger dead chunks on the edges but I was really worried about hurting the living parts.

But I did already make sure to gently clean all debris off it and keep it in a spot where no sand or anything will kick up onto it.

Does it have brown jelly on it??

Nope! Here is a picture with the whites on (hope it helps)

It seems to me like it is mostly just skeleton with little to no flesh around the outsides, with the flesh having decomposed or been cleaned away.

It's hard to tell, it might have an infection. I really like peroxide dips with lps corals.(dont dip sps). I haven't seen advertise effects from. A 50/50 peroxide dip and tank water for about a minute, might be a good idea.dip it and blow the dead areas with a baster while doing it. Kinda cleans it up and kills any bacteria at the same time. Iodine has never really done much for me but it is completely safe as long as you mix the solution before the coral goes in.
