Hey guys...
I've had this bubble coral for about a month. First 2 weeks he was totally inflated a d looked great. Last week or 2 this is the most I can get it go open.
I've head they need to be fead, so I've tried that. Flow has been the same with my vortechs. It's on sand bed about 30 inches away from my Radion XR15.
Any thoughts?

Alk 11
pH 8.01
calcium 450
Magnesium 1300
nitrate.03
phosphate.5
salinity 1.0248

Phosphate too high. Should be no higher than .1 ppm. But I am not sure that makes a difference. Alkalinity also seems way too high.
Never kept a bubble coral before but my LFS who has a degree in marine biology said he doesnt sell them because they are really hard to keep alive.

Alk 11 high??? You think this would affect coral extension??

Just for the fun of it do you by chance know if you're registering any ammonia or nitrite levels

None of that. My tank has been running for about 6-7 months now. Other LPS looks good. All of my acans look great, torch exploding....

Here he is at lights out.... I tried to feed some reef roids...
