Hello! I'm very new to the saltwater scene and have a 30g with a few "beginner" coral, a peppermint, snails, a crab and a pair of juvenile black percs.

My problem (among a couple) is placement of my bubble coral...he is currently in between two placements of live rock and his bubbles touch the sides of them. Should I pull him forward a little away from the live rock?

He seems to look happy (enough?) where he is and I don't want to bother him if that's the case but heard they could injure/scrape themselves on live rock.

My husband (who started his 210 just the other day) does all my tank maintenance, balances, testing, changes etc while I'm still learning and I may not be able to keep up with the jargon so please bear with me! [emoji28]

Nice Bubble. I just have a Grape.
I think it is better without any rocks around it so you can see it expands.
That's what I figured, he looked a little cramped but I didn't want mess with him and have him look all sad again.

They are very prone to brown jelly infections if they're injured on the rocks. They're better off raised up a little above the sand bed without rocks to injure them.
Ok, I'll move him further out from them as soon as I get home.

How would I know if he's got an infection?

It will brown up and start to recede. Kinda like a nasty bruise that's all squishy. You would know if you have it. It's very obvious. Yours looks good from what I can see. [emoji225]

Yeah, I read that so it's by its lonesome away from my toadstool and my colt.

Thank you cloak and Empress for the information!

I really hope I haven't already hurt him by putting him there (he's been there for 3 days now). I'll get some nitrile gloves today and move him ASAP.

That's a good looking bubble coral. They were one of my absolute favorites when I first got into reefkeeping in the early 90's. That's a really nice green one!
Thank you, I fell in love so fast!

What's my husband gotten me into?! [emoji13]

Mine has been in this spot for about a year. Low light. Low flow. On a rock just off of the sand bed

So big and fluffy and pink! It's gorgeous.

I just bought a player bubble coral like 2 weeks ago and I placed it under a rocks in a low to medium light. My question is the coral is slanted very lightly and just wondering if it's OK like that or should I stand it up more? I ask because I really haven't seen tentacles coming out so I don't know if it's happy or not.
