bubble coral

So I made a major rookie mistake and did not mix my RODI water with salt for long enough before I added it to my tank yesterday while doing a 15% water change .

Some undissolved salt particles must've landed on my bubble coral and it appears to be disintegrating. I have since squirted it with the turkey baster to remove any remaining particles however it appears that the actual damaged coral is what is being sprayed around. My question is will it come back ever or do I have to make preparations for a funeral service?

figured I'd follow up just to be respectful to others who have the same problem. The bubble coral is absolutely fine now.

It's funny... For all the (valid) discussion one hears on the fragility of bubble coral flesh, the sharpness of the skeleton, and their propensity for damage to their tissues, they also seem to possess this phoenix-like ability to bounce back from total carnage sometimes.

Its unfortunate, i have been there and done that many years ago. Glad to hear it recovered. It amazes me sometimes how resilient corals can be.

Awesome man! I’m glad to hear your coral is doing well. We all make mistakes in this hobby as we continue to learn daily. Look at it this way...you learned a lesson and you still have your bubble coral.

They can be tough. Last week I dropped some magnesium on mine. Thought it was done. Closed for a day or two and now back like nothing happened.
