Just how aggressive are they? Could it work in a nano tank?

I just put a few SPS frags in — birds nest, monti, and an elephant skin — b/c of this group of little eviota gobies I got over a week ago. My thinking was that the little fish will love to perch among the plates and branches as these frags grow. But I’d like more LPS and I’ve always been kind of obsessed w/bubble coral, and I’d also like something for on the sand in the front of the tank…

Very very aggressive. And yes, my bubble started in a 16 gallon BioCube. It will kill whatever it’s sweepers touch. It has killed Leptos, montis, frogspawn and ripped off Frogspawn and anemone tentacles. You’ll have to re-home it or move to a larger tank at a certain point.

This is what deep down I knew and didn't want to believe :( I'm nervous to pull the trigger b/c the space I have left is still probably too tight.

Any other less aggressive and not terribly fussy LPS that could go on the sand in the front of the tank?

Edit: I just saw the pics -- it's so beautiful! They just have this ethereal, otherworldly look.

You can always frag it as it grows.

My favorite coral. Here it is now in a Nuvo 40.

Beautiful bubble!! I’d love some help with mine actually! I recently lost my Green bubble and I don’t know why but I also have a purple bubble and it was doing fine but it’s not as dark purple as it used to be and I feel like the Skeleton has been receding a bit and that bothers me but after my clown hosted it it has been opening up more but I’m still concerned!!

No, you can't always frag a bubble. Unless the mouths are separated enough to have no flesh between them, cutting the flesh is usually a death sentence.

In the pic below, this bubble has 5 mouths and is still un fraggable.

@Lyss they are the most aggressive LPS I've ever come across. I've got pictures of mine with 12" sweepers!

Mine has killed lps, sps and softies alike. The only way I would put one in a small tank is if it is a very small bubble, And you have the ability to control sweepers by drawing them up into water flow safely away from everything else. This isn't a catch-all as I have witnessed my bubbles sending sweepers, upstream so to speak.

Yeah, I've still held off b/c of this -- I'm thinking I'll have to curb the craving for one until I have a larger tank. I just think they're so cool looking!

Could you possibly help me with mine? I’ve lost a green bubble coral with no clue as to why and the last thing I’d want is to lose this one too!

This is totally nonsense. Check out @Vinman thread on fragging bubbles. It’s totally possible and by his account quite easy. I know for a fact he does it often with no casualties.

My bubble was one of his frags. And here are plenty more.

I'm glad This specific bubble reacted well and I'm happy to check it out, see if there is a method that is working consistently.. there are a few members who have also fragged cynarina. Exception vs Rule. Most bubbles that aren't separated, or have the flesh very thin to begin with, don't do well when you attempt to slice and dice.

The receding flesh could be from flow. What’s the flow like at nights when the bubbles are deflated. The base of my bubble is glued to a tile. The tile is then glued to an island rock. I know the flesh from mine is growing down and over the rock as if the bubble is incorporating the rock into its skeleton. I’ll grab pictures tonight at lights out when it shrinks down.

So my flow has been low because I believed that’s what happened to my green bubble so I keep it really low and I barely see the bubbles moving but mines only on that big frag but it definitely seems to be receding instead of growing down

Is he selling frags? Because that’s a lovely bubble for sure!
