Is there any way to stop these bubbles ?

turn down the flow or maybe retro fit some sort of filter foam to the return lip.

I don't know i gotta do something. i don't want to turn down the flow because it will effect my turnover rate.

Drill that tank! Or at least add an overflow box, sump and return pump(flow can be adjusted with a ball or gate valve). Those types of filters should be used for emergencies IMHO. You and you tank will be happier from a sump system for filtration.
There are many articles and DIY's for this and can be done on the cheep!

I have a hob filter & it does that when then water level gets low in the tank

I looked and to do that was going to cost allot. Im on a tight budget. I am going to look into the diys. And what is IMHO?
