Bubble King Double Cone 200 assembly question

OK, what am I missing here? How does the volute connect to the pump? The pressure fit with just the o-ring isn't remotely snug enough to keep on, the tension from the hose to the silencer pops it right off. The instruction manual is pretty but it isn't very good (and the translation is just plain bad)...

Edit: I have it on there with just the pressure fit at the moment but that seems like a cheesy assembly.

I have two speedy 3 pumps for BK DC and they’re both the same. O ring holds it in place. If yours is really loose, maybe need to replace the oring? Mine feel pretty snug. Need to wiggle it a bit to get it off.

Definitely not the case with this one. They did send a spare so I guess I could try that one tomorrow.
