in the process of generating my short list of equipment for a 475 gallon build I'll be underway on soon. Don't have unlimited funds but have set aside plenty to do this tank right. Is the BK skimmer really worth THAT much cheese? 2 grand just for the skimmer for the tank I'm doing seems crazy. Anyone have any experience with the RK2 skimmers?

Get a pair of 300-350 gallon skimmers, save some money and have better performance. Two good skimmers will crush the performance of a single BK.

Never used an RK. I would likely not until I could find 5 years of track record of kicking *****. Sorry for not being any help, but going with proven stuff is a good idea... not all skimmers are good and it is wise to know what you are getting.

BK makes incredible skimmers. I agree with JDAs thoughts on two skimmers. The mini series and Double Cone from RE are a little easier on the wallet... I'm going to grab 2 x ASM G4s for my 300 build @ $425 ea. When I can afford it, I'll get a couple Supermarins :)
