Set up my new Bubble Mangus 7 skimmer on the tank today....Ran it in a vinegar/water solution for a day, and rinsed it out.
The skimmer is sitting in 9 inches of water in my sump (manufacturer recommends 9-11)....and the bubbles quickly build up and pour out over the top even when its dialed into the max setting.......so..... Water quickly fills the collection cup. So, I have a few questions:
1) Is this a normal part of the break in period?
2) Should I open up the 'drain', and let the water flow back in the sump?
3) Should I collect the water and dump it? This would be like every 15 minutes!
4). I read in some posts that it may be worth getting a valve to instal on the air intake?
5). Anything else I should consider?
6). Should I just let it run as is, and spill over the top....and patiently wait for it to break in.
I look forward to ANY help.
