Bubble magus c3.5 fed up with micro bubbles

I have been running this skimmer for almost 2 months and it throws so many micro bubbles into my sump and make it into my return chamber .I am almost ready to chunk it in the garbage .
It pulls the darkest skimate I have ever seen but my DT always has micro bubbles being shot out the return lines .

Put a sponge in the baffle between the skimmer chamber and return chamber

I have a big black sponge filtering to the return chamber and they go right through it. LOL. The skimmer is about 5-6 years old and chucking microbubbles so much that they collect on the glass and the overflow. I'm interested in what everyone else does.
