Hey guys have finally received my BM curve 5 and trying to dial it in. As you can see from the video its sitting in 19cm water roughly 7.5inch and is overflowing setting on the max setting. When placed my finger on the air inlet it raises before it drops when I take my finger off. Then raises back up to over flowing. I also tried this at 10" of water 9" and still same thing. Whats the best practice to have it set.

Its quite noisy generating the bubbles but when i place my finger on the air inlet its dead silent

Evening,

I have not run the curve, but should be similar to others. I cannot play the vid on my iPad so I am not sure what you mean about overflow setting on max.

I will mention not to be too concerned about the skimmer right now. Your tank is new and does not have much of anything to skim. That may be one problem. Once you begin skimming you would use the water output tube to raise or lower the water level in the bottle. Closing raises, open lowers. There are are few videos you can google that show how to adjust.

Tank is looking good in the build thread.

I am running my curve 5 in about 6.5 inches of water and i let it run for a few days before it stopped overflowing. It is a little loud pulling air but I ran a tube off the top of the silencer to behind the tank and that helps with the noise.

May just be overflowing because it is a new skimmer. However I would recommend you make sure the water outlet valve is referenced correctly. When you attach the skimmer body to the base plate, you need to set the knob to full open or closed, and also set the gear in the base plate accordingly. I’ve accidentally misaligned mine after cleaning and went to set the water level only to realize the numbers on the knob did the opposite of what I expected. I also don’t see the air line restrictor in the video. It can be used to help fine tune once you get the water level set.

Can anyone explain this? Currently its sitting in 6.2" of water. Its recommended at 9 to 11inch.

Takes about 3 minutes to fill before over flowing.

Did your overflow like mine?

It appears that switching it off cleaning the head and Turning back on has stopped any water only bubbles
