Ok guys so i pickd up a new bubble magus curve 5 for my 60 cube buils and got it the other day. It seems much smaller than i thought it would b, they rate it at 140g but i think that is a stretch. My tank will b strictly sps, does anyone have any exp with them? and do u think it will b enough for a 60 cube, or do i need to just stick with the trusty old Reef octo NW 150????

I have no experience with the curve series but they look sweet! I just picked up a Vertex Omega 150 for my 125 . I haven't put into play yet but I seen the curve 7 and noticed it rated for more gallons and its cheaper. I wish I would've went that route. I don't think you will be disappointed

+1
I have no experience with the curve, but it has all the goodies from a trusted brand. I bet it will perform great on a 60g with sps. Will you have any fish in the tank?

yea I will b transfering my corals and fish from my 90. I will have a yellow tang, coral beauty, copperband, pair of clowns, pair of mandarin dragonettes, pair of watchman gobies, pair of dispar anthias and a pair of bangaiis. well maybe. I don't know if i'll b able to keep them all, I would really love to but if i dont have room then certain ones will have to go. I just hate to loose most of them as i have had a lot of them for a min of 4-5 yrs :( but if need b i would drop the yellow tang, and the coral beauty.

I know that tech has changed a lot since the days of old LOL, but the curve 5 looks to b about half the size of my nw150 and that is what scares me LOL it just looks so puney LOL

I just connected the 5 last night on a frag tank. It went crazy all day but this morning it has calmed down. Looks like its gonna be a beast!! Should work GREAT on a 60g

great thats hat i wanted to hear :D I love my reef octo but its old and i wanted this nice new one to work, to give me that nice clean look, and i love the cmall footprint. What size tank is your fragtank? and how deep do u have it set?

Ya the curve 5 is a great skimmer you will not be disappointed. I have one too for my 57 rimless. and everyone that I have talked to loves their curve 5

Quick question: who makes the pumps on the curve series. I'm interested in a curve 7 but don't know who manufactures the pumps.

I'm not sure who makes them but i know my curve 5 runs the ROCK - SP1000

Thaks for the post mike I'm glad i posted this thread, i feel more and more confident with every post :D

How many inches of water are you running it in? I was looking at these because it said they could run in deep water but I couldn't find one available at the time.

I know they are rated for 9-11" but i have seen posts where people are running them in as little as 7"...

I know people who run Em in less than the 9-11 recommend but mine is on a 48x24x10 tank like 49g and a 20g sump. I'd say its like in about 10-11in right now.

I havn't even got it setup yet LOL. It will b used on my 60 cube that i am building, but at this time all i have is the beginings of an awesome stand and 5 panes of glass. I just wanted to c what peoples thoughts were b4 i need the skimmer, cause nows the time to upgrade to the curve 7 if i needed to, but I think i'm going to hang onto it and see how she works for me. If im not totally satisfied i can always upgrade later ;) but after all the comments on this thread it dosen't look like i'll need to :D
