Bubble Magus Curve 5

I've got this thing sitting in 22.5cm of water. I could move to a 18cm camber (8.8 & 7 inches).

I only get about 1 to 2 inches of bubbles on top and it almost never fills my cup.

What is wrong?

Any suggestions?

PS: I've had it running for some time, it's never improved. So it's not a matter of breaking it in).

That skimmer should be 9.5-11 inches in water.

Do you know if there’s any simple ways around fixing this? Lifting sump water level for example?

Your sump should have an adjustable baffle. If there's no way to adjust the skimmer section you will need a new sump with adjustable baffles or a new skimmer that runs in less water.

If there's too much water in the body there wont be enough space for the froth to form and it will just overspill into the collection cup. Too little and the froth wont reach the collection cup.
