I have a 75 gallon with sps. Which skimmer should I go with here. Cannot decide? Which one is more set it and once dialed in then I will only have to clean it. The skimmer the died was a skimz sn 123 skimmer. So anything will be an upgrade!

I found my Curve 7 difficult to dial in but I have never used a Reef Octopus so can't say how they compare.

Thank you I have decided to go with Reef Octopus
Good plan. I have both. SRO 5000 INT on my 240 and a Curve 7 on the 120...
Honestly, I hate the Curve. Really need to replace it..
Reason is 2 fold. The Curve is finicky on a good day, and the water level required is a full 2" higher than. The RO. Not that the second is an absolute deal breaker, but having a 9" deep requirement on a relatively small skimmer is just silly if you ask me. Those with much smaller sumps than I have could definitely find that water level problematic.
Glad you went with RO. You won't regret that decision.

I have a RO 150SSS on my 75g and it works great. I can tell my bioload is currently a little light the size skimmer. I was looking at the Curve7 as well when deciding on a skimmer.

I ran the curve7 since 2013, It needed a lot of water in sump, usually had it at 10” of water. It worked well for me without any issues, sometimes it did go crazy on me and overflow. But it has been reliable. I just recently went with the Reef Octopus Elite 150-S Space saver with varios2-s DC-pump. I Love it so far, it’s sitting on 7.5” of water, and after its first 24hrs at max (wide open), and on speed setting #4 its already pulling gunk out. Amazing!!! It’s super quiet! I can’t even tell it’s running. The float switch on the lid is a genius idea. Build quality on these elite models are superb. 1/4 turn and collection cup comes off. The Varios controller, is easy and convenient.
Will wait after 2 weeks to start dialing it in.
Now all I need is a new Tank. :)

I set mine up tonight. Running wide open right now. And will adjust it later.

Yes I did and it is starting to skim already. It is amazing how powerful that small pump is.
