bubble magus NA 7 first impression

Ok, Well I thought I would pick one of these up and see what you got for a $249 cone skimmer. THe Skimmer was packed well and everything arrived perfectly.
Well for the money its pretty good so far. You have to do the final assembly on the skimmer which takes about ten minutes. BAsically you have to open the skimmer body up and put the pump in. Not a big deal. I am sure it is this way to ship better.
Ok so what do i think. Well i put it together and set it in the sump and plugged it in. It actually fires right up no rattle or anything. It had a very slight hum when first fired up and its actually very quiet. Having the pump inside I am sure helps in this.
The build quality is pretty good for the price point. Its not a ATB or a Bubble king nor do they claim to be. Everything fits together well and I think it has the makings of a nice inexpensive skimmer. More to come but here are a couple pics to hold you over.

you cant see from the pics but it uses a hybrid pinwheel meshwheel. so it has both. pretty clever little setup

no, the bubble plate is plenty high as the pump is internal

Just thought I would make note that the skimmer is working well but if you buy one, it does not have the same feel as a Higher end skimmer will have. The bubble plate is kind of thin but other than that it built ok. ITs just different from what I am used too. Its kind of funny,its from china but the colors are red white and blue. THe skimmer is quiet and i dont hear it outside the stand. Again i think this is partly due to the pump being inside the skimmer. Working well. Lets give it a couple days and see what it does.

you like the skimmer im thinking of buying one cause i have limited room left in my sump.. and thats the best skimmer i can find for the size...

Mojo...I am very interested in your updated opinion of the BM NA7 skimmer and it's Atman 2500 pump...

From the looks and specs of it, it seems to be an almost exact match to the soon to be released SWC160 Cone skimmer...would you agree?

Il get a couple pics of it here in the morning. Pretty tired bee a long week thus far.

IT works, Seems to be doing better every day. The bubble plate material feels kinda cheap but once you put it all together its a solid little skimmer. The neck of the cup sets down inside the neck of the body. creating a little step. Not sure this has a huge effect on performance and for the price standpoint its not a concern really. I want to get the NA6 as well. I think it will be pretty nice. for a $150 skimmer.

I've been running this skimmer for about a month now its great for the money pulls out alot of dark skimmate no micro bubble alot of skimmer for the money

mojo how deep in the sump do you run it in book said 9.5" to 10.5" looks like yours is a little sallower just wondering
