Hello- my skimmer's air intake has been acting up. Bubbles are intermitent. I have cleaned it out with a vinegar bath, and checked the airway, seems to be ok. The skimmer is in 8.5" of water. And my current sump cannot get deeper. I am in the process of building a bigger sump, but am curious if this skimmer needs a new pump, or is it too shallow.

Thank you.
Brian

Can you post a pic of your skimmer in action?

Vinegar bath seems to have done the trick. I also increased the water level inbthe sump, over the baffles. Not a permanent solution. We will see if it holds up when the water level evaporates.

I believe the working depth on these are about from 6" to 9" of water.
You can adjust the flow by turning the nozzle on the intake of the pump.
I think the model you have is retired by BM and replaced by a different model as well.

Thanks. Im hoping that vinegar bath is all it needed. Its in about 9" of water now, and foaming like crazy! Once the evaporation comes into play, it will be back to 8.5"

Yes your skimmer is trying to break back in as the vinegar made it brand new again.
All skimmers have a break-in period some longer that others and the bad thing about it is that the foam like crazy and sometimes you can't control the skim in the cup.
