I have a 350g I’m going to set up as a fish only tank and was gonna put a bubble magus curved dc9 on it full retail roughly $464. I have own bubble magus and they work good for me. But my question Is are the reef octopus or deltec skimmers better? They seem to be about the same design as far as the bottle neck, dc pumps, wheel and pin but double the cost $800.i have no problem with spending money but are they that much better?

I have to admit to being a Reef Octopus fan and it is the only skimmer brand I have ever used.

My only concern with them has been with my current skimmer (an NWB 200) where they have discontinued the pump, as well as any parts. I had to order a whole new pump (different style) to replace my broken impeller bushing.

I do not know if they are truly worth double the price, I just have always liked the performance, as well as general longevity of the brand.

Like you I have always used bubble magus, I did have a tunze didn’t use it once and got rid of it because I was so happy with the bubble magus. I’ve got a 250g system. It smaller but heavy stock
