Good guess. Think u r right. They live under the shell. Check YT. Videos there how to remove with a paper clip. All McGyver- like.I'd guess that its a parasitic isopod. Google it, there may be a video on BRS and or Utube on how to remove it.

Correct, but cmon man. Have a heart. Save the shrimp. Save the shrimp!, save the shrimp!, save the shrimp! Thanks everyone. I’ve been trying to catch this little ******* to attempt the surgery... impossible to catch!!! From what I can tell it isn’t a threat to the fish correct? Im more worried about my fish than this darn shrimp

That’s the spirit!I’m gonna try if I can’t catch this A Hole! I’ve got a high powered Sure Fire flashlight. Maybe I can blind it temporarily and snag him....?

Thanks for that idea. Now all I have to do is find a plastic bottle... lolBottle trap. Cut the top off a plastic bottle, invert it and tape it back together. Put some food in it.
I just fed and he came out into the sand bed. I thought I had him but he’s a sly little sucker!Mine flips out when I feed. Put the net down and then come back and feed about 30 mins later. Be quick
I plan to try this tonight and hopefully catch him so I can attempt the surgery on Sunday. He’s impossible to catch with a net. Plus I’m freaking the fish out putting that net in the tank over and over. You can try a bottle trap- cut the top half of a water bottle off and invert it, creating a funnel leading into the bottom half. Then place some food in it, and wait over night!
