Because anywhere that has a bubble stuck to it would be essentially dry and would start to die. Whenever I get bubbles on my rocks I hit them with a turkey baster to get them off. Also when I pull a rock out of the tank for fragging I always turn it upside down when I put it back so all of the bubbles underneath will float off.
This is also why we have bubble traps in our sumps.

i understand, I do blow off my rocks after I bubble scrub, but I don’t think with an established tank it will kill enough bacteria to do harm IMO
