I have a macro algae tank and wondering if I can keep a bta in this system. Where does no3 need to be when keeping bta?

It should be fine at a variety of levels as long as the anemone is fed. You can feed the anemone to supplement nitrogen and phosphorus if it is too low in the tank, but I'd imagine you would keep enough for the anemone if its a macro algae tank (since obviously they use a decent amount).

My bta seems happy with no3 anywhere < 30ppm. He does get food rained on him daily.

For reference, my tank has around 2ppm nitrate right now and I just removed 15 bubbletips from my collection of around 40 to 50. Historically the tank has been between 10-16 but has been at the lower end for the past few months. I feed fish food (flakes and pellets), reef energy, and live phyto daily.

If there is a clown fish hosting the anemone, this will also help as they supply nitrogen to anemone.
