I’ve had this bta in my tank for about a year and a half now. It’s done quite well up until a couple months ago. I went on vacation for 2 weeks and had a friend look after the tank for me, when I got home it looked all shrivelled up and sickly. I assumed it was dying at first, but 2 months later it’s still alive. Any idea what could of caused this or what I can do to help nurse it back to health?

Could be a million things. Need all your parameters including salinity, nitrates, phosphates.
Have any of the parameters changed during or after your vacation? Any other bta's in the tank?
Any Diatoms or Dinos?
Is the 2nd pic recent coz she seems to look healthy there.
Clearer pictures under white light would help too.
My bta's were sulking before when I had a diatom bloom, when I had dinos and when I had 2 types of bta.

BTAs are temperamental little creatures. Shriveling up and expelling poo is what they do. If you notice its tecntacles shrinking or it bleaching, then you have a problem...but just deflating..dont lose any sleep.
