I just got this guy yesterday from my LFS. He took up almost the whole front of this rock. I looked over this morning, and saw he's just a fraction of his size, in a hole in the live rock. I've had my tank established for several years. I also added a few other things at the same time, like some snails, a goby, and 2 peppermint shrimp.
Is this normal? Is he just adjusting? Or is this a sign that something is wrong?

This is fairly normal. He just found a "happy spot" and has temporarily pulled himself in. He should return to normal within a day or so - just give it time. In the interim, just make sure your lighting and flow remain consistent and be sure to occasionally feed your anemone.

PHEW, thanks all! :) Makes me feel much better....
Did some research... found this: https://theaquariumguide.com/articles/bubble-tip-anemone.
LFS told me I didn't need to do anything extra in addition to what I'm already doing. It seems that might not be true. Besides checking salinity, temperature, nitrate/nitrite/ammonia levels, and water changes, is there anything extra I need to do/check?
From that article, I see pH Level and Water Hardness are of concern, and it mentions feeding it as well, which my LFS told me I didn't have to worry about.... Any good resources to read up/study on these guys?

Always know what your alk ,mag ,cal, temp , salinity , and lighting .always keep them stable . Nems like feedings plus they will roam to find a place they feel comfortable . Stability and patience is the road to success. Also flow is important but if they get too much flow they will move

I've noticed that the center (mouth?) is looking white, which looks abnormal... does this indicate there is something wrong?
