Need some advice or information thinking about getting a anemone but I'm keeping a mix coral reef and heard they like to move around allot and sting coral is this something that I would have to worry about ? Has anyone had a problem with this and possible get rid of it any input would be appreciated thanks

People have this problem all the time. I'm worried about it since I've got everything mounted and growing out. My solution is to place my nem(s) onto a rock on an island and hopefully they'll stay put. The bottom line on them is that they'll do what they want when they want and that they'll kill/sting corals.

Hmmm that's no good I'll have to think about it not sure if I want to risk my coral finally getting some stability and growth going thanks for the input

Once the bubble tip is happy they will usually stay put for long time, but when u change something and they don't like it or they split they will move. They will do what they want.

Tore my tank apart last fall to remove rouge anemones, so yes, they can do serious damage if they go for a walk about. Oddly my original RBTA has stayed in the same place since settling. They will eventually find a spot they are happy with and if you're lucky, they'll stay there. Keep in mind, that spot may not be in a place you're happy with.

In my case, it was the splits that went crazy and settled among some pretty healthy and large coral colonies. Let's just say the corals lost!

Wow that sucks sorry to hear that I think I'm going to pass I have some sps I have been trying to keep and a couple are finally growing and starting to do alright with my luck that's exactly where it will want to be lol thanks for the input I'll stick to my love for rock flower anemones they just chill in the one spot

I think I'm either lucky or have some wonky nems. Mine split and moved into their happy places which is right next to SPSs. Given my water movement, the nems are constantly rubbing against the SPSs without any noticeable problems. They're rubbing against some pocillopora and sunset montis with no signs of damage. Growth is inching towards some forest fire digis, but no contact just yet. Will report back if I see SPS stings.
