Hello, I got a new bubble tip anemone a couple weeks ago and it is acting rather strange. I currently have 3 BTAs and 2 of them (rainbow and green) are doing great and eat well / show no ill signs but my other BTA seems to be constantly on the move and will not settle down/attach. Can anyone provide some feedback, I have attached pictures that were taken today. My parameters are currently
8.3 PH
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
0-5 ppm nitrate
Alk is 9.8 dkh
Ca is 500
Mg is 1500
I dose microbacter 7 every other day and seachem iodide are 3 ml.
My setup is only a 29 gallon with 2 hipargero leds

Just looks like he may be moving to me. I don’t see anything too out of the ordinary yet.
The issue for me is he is always on the move and likes to be in weird places , I have just taken this photo as you can he is upside down

My black widow didn’t settle for like 3 months. I think it may be because you have other anemones taking the good spots. I don’t put more than 2 varieties of nem in any tank. He will settle, give him time. He still looks healthy

I am sure you already know and may have already done this, but just a little reminder to take some extra precautions to block any intakes for filters/pump/wavemakers, etc.

I know this is a Tate reply and I hope your BTA is getting better. It is very bleached. This typicaly happens because most LFS keep them under very low light. Anemones love light. They also use nitrates as a food source so it it good to see yours are not zero. Has it settled in yet? How is it doing now?

Unfortunately wondered into a powerhead and I had to discard but yea I think he was too bleached from LFS

Usually when that happens just turn the power head off and it will extract itself. Although I doubt yours was healthy enough to do so.
I was at a LFS to get some krill and everyone of there BTAs were white. Sadly the had a bunch of them too!

My first did the same and with literally 2 tentacles left after being sucked into filter and kept him in a clear like 3 in pipe afterwards and he has fully came back! Sorry for yours, but from what I've gathered from other reefers, a white anemone is not healthy
