Please can someone have an answer!! So, I recently acquired two bubble tip anemones to replace my Condylactis anemone... Now, The first was a green bubble tip, and I placed him in a great place where he had a good water flow, a place to rest his foot and a decent amount of light. When I got it, it was deflated, and then decided after two days, and after starting to recover to move to the back of the tank, under a piece of rock where it gets almost no direct lighting and almost no water flow... I then got a quaricolour bubble tip, and same as before put it in a place where there was good water flow, enough light and a place for the foot, but again it has been hiding behind a rock in the dark. Both of them have been hiding for about 2 weeks, so I tried to coax them to move by changing the water flow of the power heads directly at them but they will just not budge... I've read a lot of things, and I don't want to have to start poking at them - but I would love to be able to see them, and see them inflated and being used by my clownfish (who are already using the green one but obviously it's behind a rock so I can't see it). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How old is your tank?
What are your water parameters?
Did you acclimate?
What is your lighting?

BTAs can be weird at times, I have one that is about 7 inches when fully expanded that stays front and center in my tank but the other 2 smaller ones are always on the move and tend to stay towards the back of the tank. I would say NOT to poke them and let them find a spot they are happy with ... messing with them when they are already unhappy will only make them more unhappy. If they haven't been in there that long and your tank is new it may take them some time to get accustomed to your tank. Patience is key!

What happened to the very first anemone that caused you to get two new ones?

You have to let them do their own thing. Don't bother them, don't poke them, don't point the power head at them. You must let them settle and understand that if they settle in an unfavorable position that you have to let that be. They can't always settle themselves in the perfect viewing area.

Tank has been running 6 months or so, and all the parameters are perfect. I have a full spectrum LED light and they were acclimated. I'll be patient I guess but I just hope that they don't keep hiding forever :(

Nothing happened to it, my clownfish wouldn't host and I preferred the bubbletips. :) I've left them but omg... I want them to be in view haha!!

I have discovered that anemone's will be anemone's. They will move whenever they want to. You think they settled down and bingo after two weeks they're on the move again. Leave them alone and eventually they may move to where you can watch them.

I'm learning that I clearly have no say haha!! Looks like I'll just sit, and wait :)

Correct statement!!! They are going to do what they want to do!!!
My 2 lil' ones drive me crazy with all the moving and make me a nervous wreck as I am always worried they are going to detach and get into a powerhead! I swear one of the little ones was in the same spot for months and now he makes a full trip around the rock work daily!:confused:

Yes just let it do it's thing . I have one and it is crawling my glass toward my gyre in the shade . It sat on my magfloat/frag rack holder for a week now it is moving up the glass . It will find its on spot . Just be patient and hope it settles where you can see it .

Thank you for your service my friend. Me Army for life

First, bubble (bulb) tip anemones are all e. quadricolor. color doesn't make a difference. second, there's no such thing as "perfect" water parameters. can you post your salinity, ca, mg, alk, po4 and no3? remember, just because you think they're in a perfect spot, that doesn't mean they'll agree. :)

As previously stated, they'll move where they want to. the unfortunate consequence of that is they can hide for too long and die. they're not too bright sometimes. can you turn the rocks they're on to give them some light?
