Is my bta sick or is he

Doesn't look sick to me...looks quite healthy.
Can't say if its splitting...could be...you'll know tomorrow.

That looks to be a farily young tank...I'm one of the few on here who think nems are a good choice for early stocking...it should do well in my experience. Don't feed it much if at all for a while and that clown will provide all the ammonia it needs...nems love ammonia.

A little less than a year ago I started my tank with a dozen nickel sized red BTAs - there are close to 60 now and climbing...so many I've added a clown harem...

About 3 to 4 months we have had bta about a month he has grown a lot since we purchased that spot has been there for about 3 days

My bta does the same thing some corners will retract but always come back around within a day or two... ive yet to have him split
