Bubble Tip Madness

I acquired these Bubble Tips from a recent tear down and since then they have been quite prolific. Literally tripled in the last 4 weeks? It's madness!

Yes the splitting occurred pretty much right after I fed them. Had to move a couple as they encroached on a slow growing milli colony

Splitting is also a stress response. Your tank looks fairly established, so I would assume they are just happy and well fed.

Splitting is the sole reason I will not put another in my tank. 1 quickly became 6.

It's funny, I've had a mixed reef 260 established for almost 20 years, and any bta I put in do great but never split. I have one that is almost a foot across that I feed 2-3 times a week and still nothing.

My original splits once it hits a certain size, none of the ones that split off of it have split again.... I just woke up yesterday to discover I now have 4

I had the same problem, had to sell six of them. Mine were splitting monthly.

The tank they were in previously had just a little natural light and very little flow. So yeah once they tasted some good flow and light it was like instantaneous

Yup, I am more than 30 years in this hobby, must have had 10 nems over this time.
Never a split.......so unlucky.

The one in the pic is about 3 years old now, maybe one day...
