. 10 gallons qt for corals with several shrimp but no fish. Live rock with a hang on back filter and small power head for flow. Chemistry is pretty good and stable. Running LEDs over it . Bubble tip was placed in it two weeks ago now in good health. It has never really opened up since. It's hosted by a white spot shrimp. Right now it's on the bottom of the tank and the lights are 22 inches above. Blues are 20% and whites are 5. I just hung this light yesterday as the other was manual with no readout. Now I can program the light and see where the intensity is at. Two questions...how long do I leave the nem in this tank before moving it to my big reef and t5 lights so as to save it from drying? What recommendations would you make as to proceeding with the current light and intensity if I keep it where it's at ? Just zoas and a tube anemone in the tank right now and the zoas are doing ok.

thanks for any suggestions.

They are not close to each other. The nem is there till I get a 40 breeder set up and running. It will go there with the shrimp. Thanks for your reply. Never heard of nems and chemical warfare.

That's because their warfare is not chemical in the way some other corals are. They will sting neighbors but chemical warfare isn't something nems do. How long has the 10g been set up? Most nems usually do poorly in "new" systems, and that seems like what's going on here.

Here is a picture. IMG_20170212_200625513.jpg

Have you tried cutting the flow and turning the lights down for 3 or 4 days if it looks worse turn them up a little higher. I got my nems and corals under Chinese 180w led seem to do fine. They are like 14in from the lights

Won't eat. Move it up? I have tried changing flow and moving the nem up in the rock work but it just closed up. I am really reluctant to try much anymore other then just let it be for a while. Problem is the last one just shriveled up and melted away.

My numbers are very good in this tank. Nitrates are 0 and phosphates are 0. I change about 2-3 gallon every week in this tank since ita hang on back filter.

+1 move to DT too; Colanders are a good home for transfering nems I hear. Never done it myself so I can't even drop an IMO/IME. Total rumorage as far as I am concerned.

When getting new nems / transfer I cut off all the pumps and powerheads in the DT, and slowly crank up the lights over an hour or so. When the foot looks grounded on some rock I'll slowly start turning on pumps (starting w/ the return - life support system!). Just my method!
