Hello,

I have an AP700 over a 75 gallon tank. Adding a bubble-tip tomorrow and was wondering if any Kessil users could tell me a PAR level that their bubble tip is happy at. This way i can make a best guess with initial placement.

Thanks!!!!

I don't think it would matter. The BTA will move to where it's happy anyway. When I got mine I just placed it on a rock that was on the the sand and a day later it moved on it's own to a spot a little higher.

I have the same light on a 60 gallon tank. My RBTA is sitting at about 200 Par measured with Apogee Par meter. Mine has never moved and is thriving.

Scuba, do you keep a mixed reef? If your corals are looking good id be curious to hear your lighting program and how high the light is off the tank... Dialing the light in has been a little bit of a tricky project for me.

I'm mounted about 15 inches above to cover the 48" tank so my intensity will need to be a lot higher to get the 200 PAR. Ive been slowly ramping up the lights to get to a point where a few SPS pieces at the top will be happy while trying to keep LPS happy in the corners...

I am running an AP700 and have had a very hard time keep BTA’s alive. I do not have access to a PAR meter. Would you be willing to share your light settings? I am currently running 30% in the second darkest blue.

Thanks

Sure, Here is my current setting at peak of day. 65% from 10am till 2:30 pm then I ramp down to 60% for the remainder of the day until ramp down at 9:30pm. I have changed quite a few things in this tank since I had the bubble tip but still have the same bubble tips in another tank.

Thanks for sharing your settings. Is your light still 7”-8” above the water?
