I've always thought my digi was a bubblegum, but recently had a local hobbyist say he thought it was a forest fire digi. I tried to confirm the ID with some google searching, and it is surprisingly difficult to differentiate the two. Some of the photos on google are used to show both the bubblegum and the forest fire.

What do you think? is this a bubble gum or forest fire? The tips are green, orange/red polyps, and flesh that isn't at the tips looks fairly white when the polyps retract. Picture taken in white light. The green on the tips is more dramatic with blue light.

Blue base, yellow tips red/orange polyps = bubble gum. If yours doesn’t have any colors the. It’s probably not a bubblegum.

The forest fire, bubblegum and superman digi can all look similar. I bought a forest fire back in the day and it was all green/red and over the last 2 years now is nice blue in the body and bright green at the tips. My "bubblegum" is a nice blue all around with reddish/orange. This tells me even vendors mix them up over time... my bubblegum is a superman and my forest fire was a bubblegum.

Yours looks like a superman but that could be because the photo isn't showing the green properly. If you're saying the tips are white/green in person then I would say it's 100% a bubblegum.

IME they are both the same, they both have green skin (white at the very tips) and bright red/orange polyps

Well I'm glad to see it's not just me that's not certain on the identity. They are so similar they might be the same thing.
