chalice is a WWC Bubblegum Monster...bought from WWC. tank is stable and tested obsessively...Alk. 8.6-8.8, Cal. 450-460. Mag. 1500. Salinity 1.026, Nitrates at 5-7.
Nanobox Duo...74% Blue...22% white.
only change is using KZ Coral Snow. Used it 3x in the last week. Used in conjunction with a Curve 5 skimmer and a Spyglass reactor running a small amount of fresh Rox carbon. Had never used it before and its impact was dramatic.
The chalice lost @ 30% of its color over a wide portion in the past 72 hours...had been totally happy for last 6 months. Areas not as 'exposed' to the light are not impacted at all, but the top is now somewhat faded, both green and the eyes.
My theory is the Coral Snow cleared the tank rapidly and caused the light to be more intense than usual? Sound possible?
Pink ******* chalice, wwc sapphire, and miami hurricane are all right next to it...not of them have faded, at all. In fact, nothing else in the tank has been impacted at all.
What is my best way forward? I dropped lights to 70% blue, 18% white....pulled the carbon offline...ceasing the coral snow dosing....spot feeding.
