Bubbler

Does anyone use a bubbler air stone or power head in their refugium to generate a better water flow that is more evenly distributed around the tank. Seems like it would expose chaeto, etc to a more constant stream of water to allow extraction of nitrate and phosphate.

Hey, how things tonight

I used to run a reverse photo period in my refuge. I had a bubble diffuser under some cheato. At night a refuge light would come on and the air pump would kick on. It was an effort to keep O2 up, ph up and grow cheato.

I like the idea as a way to distribute the water flow through the Fuge. It’s seems detritus builds up in the chaeto, etc and I’m hoping the ajrstone can help to break this up. The increase in pH will be a nice benefit.
