thank you.Hi, that looks like gas bubble disease (GBD). It can be the same reason you are seeing gas in the brood pouch. I’ve been able to reduce the symptoms with Diamox, but I’ve never been able to cure it. Here is a link to a pretty good article on this issue: https://seahorsesavvy.com/blogs/new...f-gas-bubble-disease-how-to-treat-and-prevent
I’ve never have been able to cure this, maybe Google GBD and see if anyone else has?thank you.
do you think the bubbles can go away on their own?

The bubbles will not go away on their own, at least not completely, and the underlying cause needs to be addressed.thank you.

Bro this was about bubbles under the seahorses throat. I get that you’re in the talkative mood but this is an emergency and it’s really not helping. As I said, I get the air out every now and then. Bobby pins are bad. I usually just massage it out. There are a lot of videos out there that can show you exactly how to release the air from the pouch.
I have not had seahorses in a few years, but when I had to do this, I used a bobby pin - WITH the soft part still on the end! - to work open the pouch sphincter and carefully held it open so the gas escaped. It's not a task for the faint of heart, but can be done with care and patience.
I don't have any of the videos available, but you may also try Alyssa's Seahorse Saavy, either her website or FB group, and someone there should be able to help.
Sorry about your pony, and good luck![]()

"Bro", you shouldn't be so rude to someone trying to help. Talkative mood?? glwtBro this was about bubbles under the seahorses throat. Do you have any alternatives to diamox? I’m in Canada and meds are impossible to get.Hi, that looks like gas bubble disease (GBD). It can be the same reason you are seeing gas in the brood pouch. Sorry, no alternative. Even then, all it seems to do is suppress the symptoms. When you stop using it, the bubbles return.Do you have any alternatives to diamox? I’m in Canada and meds are impossible to get.
Alternatively if someone has some and is willing to ship me a small amount that I need I’ll compensate
