Bubbles in tank seams?

Hello,

In the process of filling my tank and I’m about 15 gallons from having it full when I noticed what appears to be white marks in the glass seams. Not sure if this is anything to be concerned about. Tank is an Aqueon 65 gallon.

Has happened to me and I contacted aqueon and they said the bubbles will go away when the tank is full. It worked for me and I hope it works for you. Just stay alert and things should be fine

That’s good to know. The bubbles you had looked like this? I didnt have any bubbles with the tank half full but they appeared after adding about 20 gallons more.

Does anyone else have any thoughts? The bubbles at most only extend half way across the width of the pane. Looks the same on the back side too. Should I be concerned about the integrity of the tank?

I would contact aqueon just in case so they could get you a replacement if something happens(I'm assuming you just bought it from an lfs)? Yes the bubbles did look like that.

Yeah I bought it from an lfs. Do you remember how long it took for the bubbles to go away on your tank?

About an hour or two after starting up all pumps and everything.

the bubbles have everything to do with the way the glass expands when filled. As the tank is filled the largest panels begin to bow out. This is normal and entirely to be expected. As it does bow out the inside edge of the seam becomes stretched causing small voids to form in the silicone. This is normal and has no effect on the structural integrity of the aquarium. It will also generally appear from the center up to the top because the top does not have the silicone seam of the bottom glass holding it together which reduces the movement (bowing is highest in the center of the panel and decreased at the bottom). You can see this pretty dramatically if you’ve ever filled a plastic or rubber trash can with water."

There really should not be bubbles in it, this should have been taken care of in the build process I would contact the builder
