So I was running current orbit marine led lights and no bubbles coming up out of my sand. Now I'm ruining a 4' four bulb t5ho fixture in conjunction with the led and I'm getting bubbles from my sand. It's white crystal reef live sand. The lights are about 8" off the water. My numbers are

Temp 79
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Po4 .025
Mag 1350
Alk 9
Cal 360

Anyone have this happen. All fish and the few corals I have seem happy. I just don't like the bubbles
Thanks all!

If the bubbles are coming from your sand, I would imagine they will go away after a while. There can only be a finite amount of air trapped in the sand.

If the bubbles are coming from your skimmer or your plumbing (the Durso drain pipe adds air to the water and creates bubbles), then you could use filter socks or bubble traps to mitigate the bubbles in the display tank.

Thanks, it's definitely from the sand. Just weird that soon as the t5's got turned on the bubbles started. Guess that shows how little light penetration I was getting with the orbit led's.lol

Could be that the extra or different light is causing bacteria to colonize your sand bed.
