I had cyano and I did several things so I am not sure if any or all won the battle but I raised my Alk to 10-11, got a higher rated return pump to increase flow, got a sand sifting goby, really vacuumed my sand bed good and decreased my feeding. After a few weeks it was gone after battling it for about 4-6 months. There is no overnight fix to it but you can beat it.
Thank you.will try that one .

Not too sure why I have ammonia. Would like to get my nitrate and nitrite up abit but not too sure how to do it.
That is my Alk reading.
Ammonia reading could be a false reading .. which test kits are you using .. api tests have been known too give a false reading .25 .. and I think you mean you want too raise your phos and nitrate .. not nitrite ..you can buy nitrate + and phos + from your lFS ( local fish store )
If your alk is reading 2.8 dkh .. then it’s way too low.. should be around 8ish .. so can you check your test kit if it’s dkh

My Alk is 2.8meq/1 which translates to 8dkh.
My Ammonia test is API.
Yes I do mean my phosphates and nitrates. ( I am a cabbage lol)

Api ammonia tests are know for giving false Readings ..so I wouldn’t worry about that.. can better get saliferts or redsea ..

Thank you.i have an API multi tester which contains nitrate nitrite ph and ammonia. Is it worth changing the lot do you think.
