I have a 29 g tank with a 10 g sump and I want to add some corals. I bought a gsp frag a couple weeks ago and put it on an island. It has started growing nicely. I have a pulsing Xenia in a darker less flow spot in my tank, also doing very well. I know it’s on the main rock structure but I plan on fraging it if it gets out of control. I also have a finger leather frag. Any suggestions for coral frags that I could get? I don’t want to get anything too expensive, I’m still relatively new and I’m scared I’m going to kill anything too expensive/difficult. I also don’t like zoas.
Any ideas?

Aquarium Depot usually has some cheap stuff. I would just go to my LFS.

Not really Coral but Rock flower nems have added a lot of color and personality to my tank from early on and they are very low maintenance.

What do you guys think of the 25-35 dollar frags are they ever worth the money. They had some candy canes, acans?

Depends on if you have the money. To some, thats nothing, to others its a lot

Green toadstool, about 2” wide frags are $15-$20 around me. Fantastic and you won’t regret it especially if you like the finger leather

Rhodactis mushrooms can be beautiful, usually around $20 especially for “Superman”

If you run whiter lights, Yellow Polyps are like yellow GSP

Duncan coral is like $10 per head and is gorgeous especially in higher flow so the tentacles get long. It can be a poor man’s elegance.

Trumpet coral (especially kyriptonite) is one of my favorites and super cheap

Clove polyps can be stunning, fireworks, mandarins, lemon tip, they’re all pretty and can be found cheap

leather (finger, devils hand. toadstool)
mushrooms
Zoanthids
Blastomussa Coral
ricordia
birdsnest
Montipora (setosa, red, )
