Budget teir refugium light?

I think that'll be perfect once you shroud it and block the light from spilling into the tank.

I'll have to try and find some chaeto now.. my lfs(s) dont have any haha. They said "we don't have chaeto but we have green and brown macro algae" whatever that means...

Tbh I think they were confused. I was there before and they had chaeto in with the inverts but they may not call it chaeto

Yeah not all LFS employees are created equally. Mine recently hired one who really doesn’t seem to understand anything I say or ask him the first time.

Agreed, search Amazon for "refugium LED" and you will get great options. I got this one and velcroed it to the glass of my Biocube. I have it plugged into a timer and it runs for nine hours at night when my main lights are off. I checked it today during my water change and the chato had about doubled in size from three months ago.

It's a 20$ light what can you trust? @Bulk Reef Supply for all items that need to be trusted.

I hear you, I love me some BRS and I am a regular customer, but when you can get a reliable item for 1/5 the price that works, why not? It's the last thing I check before I turn in - as long as there is a pink and blue glow from the back of the tank, it's nighty night.

Mine should be here tomorrow. With everything else that's so much more crucial to spend money on, a multi $100 light just doesn't cut the mustard for me either. Perhaps when I have all the other things set up, I'll see the importance of investing more in a refugium light.

It's early, but so far I have been very happy with it. Fingers crossed that you have similar results!

Just wanted to update. I love that light. Several other people have bought it and loved it also. My chaeto grows beautifully!
