My frogspawn are thriving in their clearance zone, but the bare rock in between isn't the prettiest thing in between. Are there any softies I can put there that can take the beating, but aren't a threat themselves?
I've been considering putting in blue clove polyps to fill in spaces in rock in the far, far future, when all my corals are at display size, but I'm looking for something immediate. Maybe mushrooms?

I can't picture exactly what you are saying; but yeah, I would go with something like GSP or a mushroom. Generic palys can be useful (but tricky if they get carried away) in situations where you need to fill the space.

It was a pretty bad description haha. I have a large arch rock with a frogspawn on one end. It means all other corals have to be on the complete opposite end. I placed some blue mushrooms there.

For the purpose I'm using, any coral that can withstand the sting of a frogspawn, but isn't a menace itself is what I'm looking for.
Just out of curiousity, what are some good "filler corals," like kenya tree, frogspawn, etc.?

Sympodium looks great and fills in areas without getting too invasive. No idea how well it withstands stings though.

Seems like zoanthids might work too.

Blue star polyps will get out of hand. Eventually you’ll have a tank that’s all blue stars. I would get a slower encruster without a super harsh sting. Try a rainbow monti. It’ll get stung by the frogspawn but will eventually grow only in parts where it doesn’t get hit.

Maybe another frogspawn or hammer head coral, a euphyllia garden might look cool

Different color variants of the same coral always look great. I have a hammer garden myself.
