So I recently had to take my Red Dragonette back to the LFS as my thousands of bugs turned into none...he's been gone about a week and they're crawling all over again, but I've always been curious what this kind is...

Second thing is that I've not had an issue with my coraline being anything but beautiful purple...now it's getting white. none of the standard params per my reef kit have varied much at all, everything seems great, retested the water @ lfs, they said it was good too...so I'm lost as to why my purple is getting more and more pale by the day but nothing else in the tank seems to be effected... any ideas ?

I don't "dose" anything but water changes, iodine, and the occasional buffer. I use Salinity salt for the WC's, and that's about it...halp! :(

did you change lights recently? and whats your mix water source?
luv your nem n clowns btw.

What are your parameters?

They were like they always were, no nitrates, slightly low KH (hence the occasional buffer), calcium 400-450, phos. whatever the lowest reading on the card in the kit is...

No change on lighting, same as it's been since I got the tank almost a year ago now..... water source is tap (I know, I know) HOWEVER, I've been using that since day 1 without any issue. This last change I used distilled though....

And thank you !! my only babies :)

What's your salinity? The only time I've ever seen coralline algae turn white was before I had an ATO and I slacked off on my fresh water top-offs. Salinity crept up pretty high, and my coralline bleached out.

It's actually gotten lower, I was keeping it @ .026 and backed it down to .024

That looks like a feather duster, then futher to the left it looks like a possible rock anenome. Even if it was aiptasia there are means for removal so... no biggie. I'd be more concerned about that xenia taking off =D

Pretty tank btw

Also, I don't really get coraline in my tank either. I believe mine may be related to low PH, but I am not entirely sure just yet. I have recently made my PH more stable, and I plan to start dosing some purple up to accelerate the process. I'll let you know if it works if I remember =D

That feather duster has now been eaten :(, all the aptasia is at the top, I got sick of messing with it so I left it alone and they've gotten big but aren't spreading. I think mainly because my anemone has turned into a sea monster and acts like the tentacled mafia. Here's the tank now... 5.21.16tank.jpg 5.22.tink.jpg
