Hello, last night I noticed a round white bug hanging off one of my Montis. I have plenty of Amphipods and Copephods and it does not look like either. Unless it’s a different species of them that’s new to my tank. Doesn’t really look like an LPS flatworm either at least from the pictures I saw online.

Looking in the sump today I noticed about 10 of them hanging on the wall too. Here is a zoomed in picture of the one on the Monti that i blew off and pulled out. and a pic of a few in my sump.

Thoughts? Thanks!!

The blurriness of the photos (that are now removed) makes it hard to tell what the subject is, but I think the "bugs" in question are pineapple sponges (Sycon sp.). Harmless filter-feeders and common in new tanks:

Edit: from the new photo, it does look like a pineapple sponge.

Thanks for the help. Sorry for the confusion I did mix the photos up after I got a better one.

The tank is 17 years old but just had a fish die. levels skyrocketed way past anything I’ve had in many years because I didn’t catch it in time and get her our.

Assume that’s why they showed up and makes sense.
