So i noticed a few of these when i had fish but after velvet or brookynella was introducts via a cherub angel i lost all my fish within 6 days. Now these bugs are completely covering my tank. What should i do and what are they? Any help would be appreciated. They are literally in every square centimetee of my tank. Very small though

How long ago was it that you lost the fish? Looks like you've had a copepod explosion due to a lack of predation. Terrible way to get 'pod populations up, but not a bad thing in itself.
I bought a cherub angel and of course didnt quarentine. It was doing fine for about 5 days and then I rearranged the rock work because it was bullying my MUCH larger royal gramma. Within 24 hours of rearranging my rockwork the angelfish had a dusty white look to him like tiny white dots really close together that I could only see under bluish light. He died 2 days later, my royal gramma died 3 days after that and then finally, my clownfish died 3 days after him. The last fish died 5 days ago today and there are tons of these pod things now. I was going to let my tank run fallow for the 6 weeks. Do you think I could keep my pod population up just from feeding my corals and eventually introduce a mandarin????

Yes you could if your tank is big enough. What size tank? Also I’d wait longer than 6 weeks if it is brook I’d say 10-12 to be sure of everythibg

I just lost 5 of 8 fish from velvet :-(
The remaining 3 are in the QT tank for 3 weeks now.
I too had a pod explosion when the fish were removed. Scared me at first lol
Now I am growing antsy wanting to put my fish back in the display tank, I wish there was a test for diseases like Velvet that I could run rather than "guessing" and possibly subjecting my fish to a disease again.

I wish I had caught it early. My tank is only a 29 gallon biocube. I do have a 10 gal quarentine tank now though. Is 29 gallon much too small for a mandarin or a ruby red dragonet?

Yeah 29 gallons is not necessarily too small for the fish itself but it’s going to be near impossible to keep pods up

Those are munnid isopods. They are good to have -- many fish love to eat them. My 6-line wrasse destroys my population of them.
