Okay, so I purchased my first corals over the weekend. They were dipped in coralRX and put in a QT.

I found a few little creatures after the dip. I don't really know what I'm seeing.
These things are pretty dang small (maybe a cm long or so).
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

The top one is a flatworm. Not good. I would maybe dip again?

Second one I cant tell. May just be a copepod.
I thought that first one might be a flatworm. I do plan on dipping again in a week or 2. I'll be doing a little more research between now and then. I'm glad it's in a QT tank!

Top may be peanut worm or flatworm. IF flatworm, check for eggs next 14 days which are Tiny

what types of coral were u dipping?
Candy Cane, Weeping Willow (debatable I suppose, but mushroom coral at least), rosta zoa, fireworks clove polyp and ricordea florida.

those are very hardy pieces and can survive h2o2, bayers, coral rx, etc. I think a series of dips and scrubbing as well as super glue will help eradicate everything. Qt as well of course just to make sure, you dont want parasites spreading in your tank, happy reefing and happy holidays

Thank you.

I'm thinking a round of bayers. I'm just not sure how long to wait. These were dipped in Coral rx Saturday (December 18th).

I also thought about getting flatworm exit to add to the QT tank. I've heard some issues with flatworm toxicity in large numbers but since I just got that, don't think that would be an issue. I'm just not sure if that's necessary either.

I do my coral dips right after eachother with like 1 min in tank water between mixes, im very aggressive though because i want zero pests even if the coral recedes a bit

I would rather kill a frag than add aefw or any of the coral eating worms to my tank. In fact if a coral has coral eating flatworms in a dip, it goes in the bin.

Unfortunately I don't know which one had it because they all went in the dip at the same time.

I'm going to be as proactive as possible and dip several times over the next month or so,.

You're better than me! I don't do coral qt! I dip and hope.
